Ching Kuang Market
The Ching Kuang Market, on the corner of Chungshan North Road and Nung-an Street, is the oldest imported goods market in Taipei. It traces its roots back to the 1950s and 1960s, when there were many American troops in Taiwan. Today, 40 years down the road, there are still all kinds of specialty shops selling women's fashion, cosmetics, shoes, bags, accessories…..The products generally keep up with the latest fashions, and there's lots of room for haggling over the price. That is why, no matter how many new shops open, the Ching Kuang survives.

Shrlin Night Market
Shihlin Night Market is the one of the largest night markets in Taipei. The market is centered on Yangmin Theater and Tsicheng Temple. The night market is formed by many prosperous shops on Wenlin Road, Datung Road and Danan Road, etc. Among them, Shihlin Market was built as early as in 1899 and the market is famous for various snacks and eatery. Many visitors have come to Shihlin Night Market to enjoy the delicious foods, such as large pancake enfolding small pancake, hot pot on stone or Shihlin sausage. Shihlin Night Market has become a renowned place for great foods.


The Fins Taipei Sea World
Taipei Ocean Aquarium is located across Shi Lin Night Market. It is the first urban aquarium featuring deep ocean fishes. The aquarium is spacious with 7 indoor and outdoor exhibition areas: coral reefs, sharks, migration, rivers, shallow sea, ray fish and contact. The main purpose is educational, recreational, informative and entertaining. It is a place suitable for family visits.Cultural Highlights Taipei Ocean Aquarium has an 18-meter deep underwater tunnel. Walking in the tunnel, you can see fishes and sharks swimming around you. There are 7 indoor and outdoor exhibition areas with 15 theme tanks, introducing over 80 species of fishes, such as the shark tank. In addition, the aquarium also provides films and multimedia equipment to introduce lives in the ocean.


Shwangcheng st
Karaoke is big business in Taiwan, but pubs and bars rarely get revved up before 9pm or 10pm and go on until 3pm. The centre of the action is on and around Shuangcheng St near the Imperial Inter-Continental. Lane 32 (Shuangcheng St) is always buzzing. Watch out for the bars posing as ordinary establishments, but fronts for selling female company and which overcharge exorbitantly for drinks. For live music and dancing, pub at the Shwangcheng st is a favourite. For the cool crowd.


Hsingtien Temple
This very busy temple is devoted to kuan kung,a famous deified general
Who lived(A,D.162-219) during the three kingdoms period.
A man who valued loyalty and righteousness above all things,
kuan kung is worshipped as the god of war;since he was adept at managing
finances,he is also worshipped as the patron saint of businessmen.


Taiwan's first contemporary art museum
Taiwan's first contemporary art museum, TFAM was officially opened to the public on 24 December 1983. Located in Taipei's Yuanshan district, the museum occupies over 20,000 square meters of space, of which 15,000 square meters are devoted to exhibition space. TFAM is fulfilling its mission to promote contemporary art in Taiwan by planning exhibitions, by collecting artwork from Taiwan and abroad, and by encouraging art-related education and research. TFAM also promotes international exchange, providing a point of contact with the international art scene through its outreach programs within Taiwan and its sponsorship of Taiwanese art exhibitions abroad. TFAM's exhibitions of modern and contemporary art enhance the cultural life of Taipei, a cosmopolitan and international city moving from the 20th into the 21st century. The museum building., whose walls of glass offer wrap-around views of both the natural landscape and the surrounding cityscape, merges interior and exterior space, is a landmark and symbol of Taipei. Besides serving as a space for art exhibitions and education, the TFAM also offers space for conversation, recreation, and contemplation in its food court and bookstores. The TFAM is a place for artful living and the living arts.



The Confucius Temple of Taipei
The Confucius Temple of Taipei has its origins in 1875 when the Ching court established Taipei as a prefecture city for northern Taiwan. In 1879 construction began on the city, including the Confucius Temple. The plans for it consisted of literary and martial temples to be built inside the southern gate of the city. The temples both faced south, with the Literary Temple on the left and the Martial Temple on the right.
